What the published data does and does not tell you

The SQ240i is a ten-person Italian day boat with a 50 kW motor, and beyond that the picture is thin. The battery is quoted only in amp-hours at 48 volts. That is a legitimate way to specify a 48V system, but it makes cross-shopping difficult, because almost every competitor states kilowatt-hours. A buyer should ask Capoforte directly for the usable kWh figure and for the speed and range curve, not the top speed alone.

Where it sits

A 7.4-metre, ten-person open boat on a 48V system is a different proposition from the high-voltage sport boats in the same length band. Forty-eight volt architectures are typically chosen for reliability, simpler servicing and lower installed cost, and they generally suit displacement and low-planing use rather than sustained fast running. Treat the SQ240i as a social day boat for sheltered water, not a performance alternative.

The honest caveat

No published speed, no published range, no published price, and a battery figure a buyer has to convert themselves. Capoforte's parent is an established Italian yard, so this reads as a listing that has not been fully populated rather than a shaky product. But it is not a boat anyone can compare on paper today, and no serious enquiry should proceed without those numbers in writing.
